Edgy Makeup Looks at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

The runways at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week exude cutting edge trends – and once again Mehron was right there with its own edgy makeup looks. For the second consecutive year, we teamed up with Falguni and Shane Peacock to create a makeup look that highlights their signature feather, sequin and print creations. These fashion-forward Mumbai based designers have become a favorite among celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Brittany Spears, Rihanna and Fergie. It's no wonder celebs such as singer Ashanti and Destiny's Child member Michelle Willams were at the show to get a glimpse of the new collection.

Falguni and Shane Peacock wanted a bold statement on the runway that no one else had done before. They got it. The Mehron Makeup team – led by celebrity makeup artist and beauty expert Edward Cruz – created an edgy, post-modern punk look to compliment the winter collection. They made sharp, jet black lines above the eyebrows and extended them out to the hairline to create a brow crown – definitely different! "It's something ornate," said Cruz. "An accessory to the beauty."

The Mehron Makeup Team wanted to create something beautiful and polished to work with the collection's intricate details and embellishments. The facechart below shows Cruz's simple, yet edgy, makeup design that was brought to life by the Mehron team of Jamie Leonard, Brandalyn Fulton, Holly Gowers, Sara Faella, Maria Ramagli and Lauren Massaro.

How To Recreate Cruz's Edgy Look

The unique makeup look consisted of polished skin, brushed eyebrows, beautiful lashes, simple eye shadow, and of course the brow crown. Cruz and The Mehron Makeup Team achieved the models' flawless complexion with Mehron's Celebre PRO-HD foundation applied with our new foundation tool, the Face Smoothie. A smoky effect under the eye was created using our brand new INtense Eye Shadows in Desert Sand and Carbon. These super long-lasting matte finish shadows of pressed pigments are edgy, bright, and sophisticated – perfect for the show. Cruz used Mehron's Black Kohl Eye Pencil to draw the intense line above the brow, which he set with Barrier Spray to prevent smudging. To finish they eyes, the team applied Mehron's Full E.Y.E. Lashes. Tech-Orange and Geranium CHEEK Cream created a peachy glow. Mehron's Natural L.I.P. Cream completes the look.

Mehron was thrilled to have Edward Cruz lead the Mehron Makeup Team and bring his inspiration to life. We were also honored to work again with Falguni & Shane. They have very dramatic clothes with interesting juxtapositions and are open to taking risks with the makeup. Mehron's extreme colors and style harmonize perfectly with their designs.
